Faith is Believing-Cheryl Browne Over the past few weeks I have struggled with thoughts about the way some events were happening around me. I began to think less in what my purpose for God was and more in the events that were happening. Even though it was my birthday month and I was having many happy days, my spirituality in my quiet time often had me thinking of my faith in God and the proper approach to many situations I was faced with. In the midst of some of my less than thought through opinions-I would ask myself, “ How would God want me to respond to this situation”. When I chose decisions that I thought were led by God, I later found out in the end result, that my decision was not led by God, but by my carnal self. Often I would have to repeat steps that would take me back to the God-chosen way. On the other hand when I chose the decisions that were clearly led by my quiet meditations with God, the outcome was less of a struggle and the results were successful. When we allow our faith in God to guide our decisions, we will get clear cut answers. We may not like all the answers that we get, but it is your faith in God that will allow you to realize, “that this may not be the answer I was looking for but, according to my faith in God, this is the best answer for me. Once we allow our faith in God to manage our life, we are able to receive the abundance of God’s grace in our lives. In order for us to grow in our faith, we must remember that through prayer, supplication, meditation and giving thanks to God, we will receive the proper answers to questions we have about our life. Listen clearly when you are meditating on the word and God will give you the right answer. But you must first get in to the habit of praying regular and taking time to listen to God. "The grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."--1 Timothy 1:14-what better a way to put it than this scripture reading from Timothy. Read 1Timothy and 2Timothy for guidance on what is expected of you and how you can grow your faith in better directions. The Apostle Paul explains All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. -2Timothy 3:16-17. This is affirming that when you read the scripture it is from God and you can undeniably believe the word. The Apostle’s were “men of God” chosen faithfully by God to record His word. Grow in your faith with God, He wants us to believe in him and know that His word is the only answer and through his word all answers are given in proper order. Take your time each day to exercise your mind with God’s word. Believe in Him and all things are possible.
