EMBRACING ADVENT

         Advent is here!!! This the period beginning four Sundays before Christmas, observed in commemoration, to serve as a memento or reminder of the coming Christ into the world(ref:Webster Unabridged).

Between now and Christmas, time seems to “fly”. There are so many things to do. There is shopping for the “right”gift, bargains, cleaning, baking, cooking, mailing Christmas cards, wrapping and even mailing packages. Everything in time for Christmas. Oh, and do not forget that you also have to get your nails done, go the the hair stylist, and just generally nurture yourself. The list goes on and on…..By the time the Christmas arrives we are tired!!!

         This year, I ask all of my Church family to join me, by stopping for a few moments to remember what Advent is about. Let us arrange our lives so that each of us is pre-pared to receive the Greatest Gift—Christ coming into the world as a baby in a manger. He came to bring each of us Peace and Goodwill. Let’s be prepared! Just think this gift cost no $$$$$$.
