St Augustine's Episcopal Church Atlantic City, New Jersey

"Connecting People To People, Connecting People To God "

August 2008, was a great month in the life of our church, St. Augustine's.  There were many activities with great participation and cooperation from our members.

On Sunday August 17, 202 members and friends participated in the Service of Confirmation and Baptism. Celebrated by The Rt. Rev. Sylvestre D. Romero.  There were five (5) baptisms and four (4) confirmations.  God is good!!!!

September has arrived with its blue skies, low humidity, great evening breezes and uninhabited beaches. It also reminds us that we cannot rest on our laurels, but must strive to do more in lifting up the Lord Jesus Christ in our church, in our lives and in or communities.  We must prepare for a new season.

School is opening.  It is very important that all of us set an example of living our Christian Principles, so that our children, grandchildren, and great grand children will see and do likewise.  We must teach them the "way they should go".  Let them see us working for God in our church and community.  Let them hear and see us practicing patience and social graces.  We must inspire or children to set their goals high by developing a thirst for learning and knowledge, so that their God given talents can be developed to their fullest.  We honor our children when we expect them to do their very best.

Look around.  Have you seen the St. Augustine's sign hanging on Arctic Ave?  Did you notice the (re) installation of the Memorial Plaques in the narthex?  Have you noticed that much clutter has been removed?  Did you notice the new flags, Church and American?  New downspouts have been installed and a small window has been covered, did you notice?  We are progressing and we thank you for your continued prayers, patience and, support.

Your sister in Christ,

Gwen
